The
first thing I thought when I saw the Bumper Boy launcher
working, was, this is great but it's an expensive way
to get a dummy down a field. Having purchased two, I do
not know now how I ever managed without one.
I am a full time trainer and I work by myself, most of
the time. My dummy launcher was limited to firing marks
away from the dog if I had to stand with the dog, or I
had to walk away from the dog and fire it from a remote
position. The maximum dummy launch was around 70 metres
and only if I used high power loads and bought some painkilling
gel for my shoulder.
Now, I can manufacture
multiple long distance marks from cover, hedges, over
or into water, in fact I can reproduce any situation
from a shooting or trial day. I can even sit the dog(s)
as if I was picking up at the back of a wood and reproduce
an exact picking up scenario. Impossible with any other
method and all this, at the touch of a button.
With the inbuilt sound
systems, you can attract a young dog to look in the
right direction, with a choice of Duck, Pheasant or
Goose, there's even a voice ! The dummies are consistently
landed in the same place and the confidence it instils
in a young dog is amazing.
I can do so many things
with it, including, shooting at a dummy, with live shotgun
shells, as it's launched, the dog can see the strike,
make the mark and retrieve it, no other system makes
this possible.
Now I have my system,
I do not know how I could afford to be without it. I
am sure you will feel the same as you think of new opportunities
with it in your training programs. This one of the best
investments you can make to help train a consistent
well marking and steady gundog.
It's easy and very simple
to operate, I can set up so many types of flushing and
retrieving scenarios, it's fun for me and most important
of all, the dogs love using it. Guy Bennet
