Will it be cheaper if I buy it from Canada and ship it to the UK?
No it will not. The retail price of a 4 shooter launcher is $899 & $80 for advanced sound, total $979.00. It costs $120 to ship a unit by 5 Day Fedex. Total $1099. Divide by 1.7 (credit card rate of exchange) = £646. Add 10% UK Import duty as it is a commercial product. £711 & 17.5% VAT (£124) = £835.00, against our £740 ! The Canadian manufacturer will not ship direct to the UK anyway. So it has to come via a third party country, then it attracts import duty and shipping into that country as well as onwards shipping and duty into the UK. In the case of the U.S.A, another 8% import duty will probably be added. A machine bought on the grey market will not get any support or technical assistance in the UK.


More Importantly:
It is a well made and high quality mechanical and electrical product designed to be used with blank firing ammunition of reasonable force and to be used outdoors in almost all weathers. But things do and will, get accidentally broken and even the best quality parts will at some stage require servicing. If it is purchased outside of the UK, it will only be covered by the manufacturers return to base warranty, which means shipping it back to the third party country, they will send it to Canada and so on. If it is purchased in the UK it can be serviced and supported from here.

In a very recent case, a launcher was left in a kennel yard on the floor and a dog cocked his leg onto the unit, the resulting downpour got inside the speaker, it was a direct hit after all ! We just sent another speaker out the same day. Imagine if that had to be dealt with by the manufacturer ! All that time and expense because of a leaky dog !


1. What's the difference between the Sportsman and the Derby Double?
There are two key differences between the two models. Both reside in the electronics. The first difference is the electronics used. The Sportsman model comes with the Sportsman series electronics. The Sportsman transmitter is designed for only one launcher control. The Derby Double comes with the Pro Series electronics and the Pro Transmitter, which can operate multiple launchers.

The second difference is in the sound system. Both models include the same standard sound system. The advanced sound option for the Sportsman gives you the Duck call. However, the advanced sound option for the Derby Double gives you all four sounds (Duck, Pheasant, Goose, and Human).


2. Can I upgrade my Sportsman to a Derby Double?
Yes. Because the two models are the same mechanically, you can simply upgrade the electronics. Call us to find out how to get your electronics upgraded.


3. Can I program my transmitter to operate my friend's launcher when we train together?
Yes. Using a simple programming sequence, either transmitter can be used to operate both launchers. Periodically, we do software updates in our electronics and to be compatible, both sets of electronics must be on the same version.


4. How do I get my electronics updated?
To get the software updates for your electronics, call our customer service department for a return authorization number and then send in your electronics to us. We will install the new version and then ship them back to you. The update is done at no charge and all you pay is the shipping cost.


5. How long does it take to receive my order?
Normal shipping time through Ground service is 3-5 business days. From the time the order placed, most orders ship out within two or three days. Express shipping is available for faster delivery. Ask our customer service reps for shipping rates.


6. What kind of maintenance is needed for the launchers?
We recommend performing the basic maintenance described in your owner's manual. Periodic cleaning and lubricating will allow your Bumper Boy launcher to operate to optimal performance. If you never clean or lubricate your gun, it will eventually stop firing. See your owner's manual for more details.
